Woodworking Websites For WoodCrafters  & Wood Artists

Do your woodworking plans include getting your wood crafting business onto the web?

I think successful woodworking sites will be those which build a personal relationship between buyers and woodcrafters. Buyers like to know they are getting a handcrafted item and like to know about the individual making the item.

I collect wood and woodworking domains names which I think might be valuable for wood crafters. I use them to build example woodcraft sites. The domains below are wood related domains which are currently available for use by my customers. They are not necessarily polished portfolio websites, rather they present a variety of graphics and designs that could be used on your site.

Related sites include:

Alligator Juniper:   A tree native to the American Southwest which is mostly used for firewood but large pieces are sometimes used for bar counters.

Antique Oak:  Not developed yet but the website where I plan to show pictures of antique oak products such as picture frames.  Fumed oak was also popular with Stickley home decor.

Antique Oak Furniture:  In the early part of the 1900's oak was the preferred wood for furniture and was hugely popular.  Oak is still popular and there is a big market for antique oak furniture.  We have some ourselves that we bought to refinish and never got around to working on.

Chip Carving : A craft that turns small scrap wood pieces into works of art.  All it takes is time...

Finest Woods:  I think this was was originally a website talking about golf clubs.  I think it has more interest as a place to discuss fine wood for carving, turning, etc.

Installing Laminate Flooring:  The wood floor laminates look really good, are durable, are easy to clean and affordable.  What's not to like?

Oak Company:  No site built yet but it seemed like a good, short domain name to use for a company involved with selling oak products.

Treenware:   Wooden Kitchenware, especially antique items are quite popular.

Turned on Wood : A site for the wood turners.

Unique Carvings:  Wood carving was a skill often developed during long winter evenings when there wasn't much else to do.  The only tool needed was a sharp knife.  Scrap pieces of wood could be turned into toys for children, folk art, kitchen utensils, etc.  I imagine this site being used by a modern wood worker who does one-of-a-kind wood carvings.

Wood Flooring:  Wood flooring has gotten much more popular because it's easy to clean, affordable, durable and looks great.  No site built on this domain yet but it points to a "parking" service site.  They claim they automatically generate traffic and will pay for clicks, but so far development looks like a much better idea.

Wood For Carving:  With global communications wood workers can now buy wood for carving from anyplace on earth.  Unfortunately, the demand for wood is so great that forests are destroyed and some favored species are hard to find.  I think this will become a site that specializes in showing wood for carving available for sale on Ebay.

Wood Gnome: Tends to have become wood spirit carvings.

Wood Mouldings:  Wood mouldings are popular trim items in modern homes and were heavily used in Stickley and Craftsman homes.  With the development of CNC wood working machines fancy old moulding can often be matched if you are willing to pay the price.  There isn't a site on this domain  yet.

Wooden Toys: Wood toys were the product of a limited budget and time during long, cold winters.  Now it's art and the prices show it.

Wooden Spoons : Wood spoons are still the best tool for cooking some sorts of food.

Wood Working Supplies:  Someday this will be a website offering unusual woodworking supplies for sale online.
